LinkMonster ("we," "our," or "us") operates the LinkMonster Chrome extension. This privacy policy explains how we collect, use, and protect your information when you use our extension.
Information We Collect
1. Account Information
- Email address: Collected through Google OAuth for account creation and authentication along with the manual registration form.
- Authentication tokens: Google OAuth tokens stored locally in your browser for maintaining your login session
2. Browser Data
- Website URLs: We collect URLs from your browser tabs only when you explicitly add them to your link buckets using the "Add Current Tab" or "Add All Open Tabs" features or their keyboard shortcuts.
- Link collections: The URLs you organize into "monsters" for sharing. Important: These collections are public by default and can be accessed by anyone with the shareable link.
3. Preferences
- Extension settings: Such as dark mode preference, stored locally in your browser
How We Use Your Information
We use the collected information to:
- Authenticate and maintain your account
- Store and organize your link collections
- Provide the core functionality of sharing multiple links through a single URL
- Remember your preferences and settings
Important:
- URL collection only occurs when you actively use "Add Current Tab" or "Add All Open Tabs" or their keyboard shortcuts. We do not automatically or continuously monitor your browsing activity.
- Your link collections are public by default and can be viewed by anyone who has the shareable link. Only add URLs that you're comfortable sharing publicly.
Data Storage and Security
- Authentication data: Stored locally in your browser using Chrome's storage API
- Link collections: Stored on our secure servers and associated with your account
- No sensitive browsing data: We only collect URLs that you explicitly choose to add to your buckets
Data Sharing
Public Link Collections: By design, your link collections ("monsters") are publicly accessible to anyone who has the shareable link. This is the core functionality of the service - allowing you to share multiple links through a single URL.
We do not:
- Sell your personal information to third parties
- Share your email address or account information
- Track your browsing activity beyond the URLs you explicitly add to buckets
- Access or collect data from web pages beyond their URLs
Your Rights
You have the right to:
- Access your stored link collections
- Delete your account and associated data
- Remove individual links from your collections
- Export your data (contact us for assistance)
Third-Party Services
We use Google OAuth for authentication. Google's privacy policy applies to their authentication service: https://policies.google.com/privacy
Data Retention
- We retain your account information and link collections until you delete your account
- Authentication tokens are stored locally and managed by your browser
- You can delete individual links or entire buckets at any time
Children's Privacy
Our extension is not intended for children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.
Changes to This Policy
We may update this privacy policy from time to time. We will notify users of any material changes by updating the "Last updated" date.

Permissions Used
Our extension requests these permissions:
- tabs: To access URLs of browser tabs when you choose to add them
- storage: To save your preferences locally
- identity: For Google OAuth authentication
- sidePanel: To display the extension interface
- clipboardWrite: To copy shareable links to your clipboard
Data Processing
- URL collection only occurs when you actively use "Add Current Tab" or "Add All Open Tabs"
- No automatic or background collection of browsing data
- All data processing serves the core function of organizing and sharing link collections
